Brenda Gonet:
The WOman Behind the lens
I have always been a creative person. I enjoy all forms of art but the minute I held a camera in my hand I knew that I was destined to be a photographer.
I grew up in Delaware and attended a technical high school where I not only earned my high school diploma but a technical degree in Television and Radio Production at the same time. I started college in the communications field, but kept photography as my hobby. Photography wasn't a career, it was a hobby. At least that was what I had been told by countless adults at the time.
I moved to California at the age of 19 to attend a much larger university than I was attending at the time. I continued with the communications degree but found I was bored. I attempted three other majors all the while keeping my camera to my eye any chance I got. But it was still just a hobby.
During this time I married my best friend, had two beautiful children, and continued taking photos of anything that struck my fancy. Finally my wonderfully supportive husband asked me why I didn't just focus on what I love. It seemed so shocking to me that something that should be so simple, had been eluding me all these years. So, I switched majors for the final time and have never looked back. I graduated with an AA in Photography in May 2012.
Photography is more than a job for me, it is my passion. I enjoy what I do and do everything in my power to make my clients sessions as enjoyable for them as it is for me. There is nothing better than seeing the joy on someones face when they see their images for the first time.
